Panari Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 1, 2026 · Last updated: June 1, 2026
EAO Global Consulting LLC ("EAO", "we", "us", "our") operates the Panari mobile application ("Panari" or the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using Panari, you agree to the practices described here.
If you have questions, email eaoglobalconsulting@eaoholdings.org.
1. Who we are
EAO Global Consulting LLC is the data controller for personal information processed through Panari. Our contact address is available on request to the email above.
2. What information we collect
We collect three categories of information:
2.1 Information you give us
- Account basics: when you sign in with Apple, we receive a stable Apple user ID and (the first time only, if you allow) your name and email. We use Apple's "Hide My Email" relay if you choose it — we never see your true email address.
- Profile information: name, date of birth (to confirm you're 18+), gender, who you're looking for, city, country, profession, languages, prompt answers, interests, profile photos, and an optional voice prompt.
- Community profile (if you use Community mode): your "roots" (heritage anchors like West Africa, Diaspora), topics you want to discuss, and an optional avatar photo.
- Messages and content: text messages, voice notes, photos, and reactions you send in 1:1 conversations and chat rooms ("The Pot").
- Safety reports: reports you file against other users (the reason and any details you add).
2.2 Information we collect automatically
- Device and technical data: device model, iOS version, Panari build version, language, time zone, IP address (collected only at the moment of an API request, not stored persistently).
- Push notification token: an Apple-issued token tied to your device, used solely to deliver notifications you've enabled. Stored against your account; revoked when you sign out or uninstall.
- Last-active timestamp: a single timestamp updated when you open the app, used to surface fresh profiles in discovery and to time messages.
- Approximate location (only if you enable it): when you grant location permission, we read your device's GPS coordinates once per foreground session and immediately round them to roughly 10 kilometers (≈ 0.1°) before sending anything to our servers. We never store, transmit, or share the precise coordinates Apple gives us. The rounded value is used to rank profiles by distance and to display a coarse "X km away" badge. You can decline location at any time, and you can clear stored coordinates from Settings → Privacy & Safety → Location. We do not track location in the background.
- Crash and error logs: when the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, we send the error type, stack trace, app version, and device model to Sentry (our crash reporting provider). This data does not include the content of your messages, profile photos, or location.
2.3 Information we infer or derive
- Profile completeness score (0–100), used to filter low-quality profiles out of discovery.
- Match relationships: derived from mutual likes — when you and another user both express interest, we record a match between you so you can chat.
- Block and pass lists: derived from your actions, used to exclude users from future discovery.
3. What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect or store your precise GPS coordinates. Even with location permission granted, we round your coordinates to approximately 10 km before sending them anywhere. The precise reading from your device never leaves your phone in usable form.
- We do not track your location in the background. Location is read only while Panari is in the foreground, and only after you've granted permission.
- We do not collect contacts, calendar, microphone audio outside an explicit recording action, camera images outside an explicit photo selection, or any data you haven't consented to.
- We do not sell personal information to anyone, ever.
- We do not use your data to train third-party AI models.
- We do not use third-party advertising trackers, behavioral ad networks, or cross-app identifiers (no IDFA tracking — App Tracking Transparency is unused).
4. How we use your information
We process personal information only for these purposes:
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
| Show you to potential matches in discovery (dating mode) | Performance of our agreement with you |
| Show you in The Pot rooms (community mode) | Performance of our agreement with you |
| Deliver messages between you and other users | Performance of our agreement with you |
| Rank discovery profiles by approximate distance from you | Your consent (granular: granted only if you enable location) |
| Send push notifications you've enabled (new match, message, room reply) | Your consent (you can disable in iOS Settings) |
| Operate safety features (blocks, reports, moderation) | Our legitimate interest in a safe community |
| Diagnose crashes and bugs | Our legitimate interest in app reliability |
| Comply with legal obligations (subpoenas, fraud, abuse investigations) | Legal obligation |
5. Who we share information with
We share information only with a small number of service providers strictly necessary to run Panari:
| Provider | Purpose | Where |
| Supabase (Inc.) | Database, authentication, file storage, realtime messaging | United States |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, Apple Push Notification service | Apple's global infrastructure |
| Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) | Crash and error reporting | United States |
| Google | Places autocomplete for city selection (only your typed query text, not your account identifier) | Google's global infrastructure |
Each provider is contractually limited to processing your data only for the purpose stated. None of them use your data for their own advertising or marketing.
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing companies.
We may disclose information if compelled by valid legal process (subpoena, court order) or to protect rights, safety, or property of EAO, our users, or the public.
6. Your choices and rights
You can, at any time, from within the app:
- See, edit, or replace any field on your profile (Settings → ACCOUNT, DISCOVERY, etc.)
- Add or remove photos (Profile tab → Edit Photos)
- Block or unblock another user
- Unmatch with someone (this deletes your conversation and match record permanently)
- Toggle off Dating or Community mode (Settings → How you show up)
- Enable or disable location (Settings → Privacy & Safety → Location). Turning off clears your stored coordinates immediately.
- Disable push notifications (Settings → Notifications, or iOS Settings → Panari)
- Delete your entire account (Settings → Account → Delete account)
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your profile and all profile fields
- Your photos and voice notes from storage
- Your likes, passes, matches, conversations, and messages
- Your room memberships and any messages you sent
- Your push notification tokens
We retain certain records for a limited period if required by law (e.g. to respond to safety reports about abuse you sent before deletion, or to comply with anti-fraud obligations).
If you live in the EU/UK (GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA), or other jurisdictions with specific data rights, you also have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you (email us)
- Port your data in a portable format (email us)
- Object to specific processing
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, email eaoglobalconsulting@eaoholdings.org. We respond within 30 days.
7. Data retention
- Active account data: kept while your account exists.
- Deleted account data: removed from our active systems within 30 days. Backups may retain limited records for up to 90 days before being cycled out.
- Safety reports: retained for up to 24 months to detect repeat abuse, then deleted unless tied to a legal matter.
- Crash logs: retained by Sentry per their default policy (90 days), then auto-deleted.
8. Security
We protect your data through:
- Encryption in transit: all traffic to and from Panari uses HTTPS/TLS.
- Encryption at rest: Supabase encrypts databases and storage at rest using industry-standard AES-256.
- Row-level security: server-side database policies enforce that you can only read or write data you're authorized to see.
- No third-party trackers: no analytics or ad SDKs that could leak your data.
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
9. Children
Panari is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you become aware of a user who is under 18, please report them through the in-app Report flow (reason: "Underage") and we will remove their account.
10. International transfers
Our service providers are located primarily in the United States. By using Panari, you understand that your data may be processed in the United States and elsewhere. We rely on standard contractual safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable) for transfers from regions with data localization rules.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced inside the app and by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Panari after a change constitutes acceptance.
